We are so excited to have you all up at the farm next weekend. We’re expecting sunny days and cool evenings. Please read through the following email so you are prepared for the weekend.

DIRECTIONS:

Make sure you have these pulled up before you get off the highway and lose service. Remember to leave Chicago early to beat Friday traffic if you can! Also, if you have room in your car from Chicago, drop us a line. We have some folks still looking for rides. DON’T RELY ON GOOGLE MAPS TO GET YOU THERE. For the Google Maps address: N7098 County Hwy E, Albany, WI 53502

ARRIVAL: We want to avoid a bottleneck as people are arriving on Friday at the farm, so please be prepared to drop/unload your camping things quickly and move your car into the parking lot after going around the loop and past the farmhouse. We will have wagons and an ATV available to help people move things out to camping zones. After you park, you can check in with Kerry/Nora between the Farmhouse and the Tractor Shed.

TENTS: This is a camping festival. Make sure you have a tent with a rain fly. We do not have space inside the house. And remember a flashlight or headlamp!

BATHROOMS: We have a fancy bathroom trailer this year for toilets. We also have an outdoor sink, a cold outdoor shower, and a rough soaking tub. Please do not use the bathroom inside the house even if you are volunteering; we do not want to back up the septic tank. We always encourage nature pees.

FOOD: We have an amazing team led by Jess Galli and some amazing volunteers preparing to dine you all for 5 meals. However, we recommend bringing snacks and some additional food with you, especially if you have specific dietary requirements. See the menu attached.

DRINKS: We have lots of delicious beer available from Revolution Brewing, Wisconsin’s own New Glarus, and more. If you desire something a little stronger, please BYOBooze. We will have a limited quantity of NA and THC drinks available. And hey, bring your own reusable water bottle and coffee/beer cup if you got one! We have delicious well water on site and want to keep you all hydrated.

We’d also like to give a quick and important shout-out to Metropolis Coffee who are donating coffee to the festival this year!!! Thank you, Metropolis. We only survive because of your delicious coffee.

VOLUNTEERING: Postock is a volunteer-run festival, so we would like to invite you all to volunteer some time up at the festival. If you haven’t signed up on the form already, we can slate you for a shift when you arrive. If you don’t have a shift, we are always looking for people to help pick up trash, fill up a water cooler, or jump in serving a meal. We are all stewards of the prairie and ask that you all lend a hand.

TRASH/RECYCLING: We sort things as follows. PLEASE be mindful after meals and put things in the right place so we don’t have to resort:

1) Compost: all food scraps

2) Recycling 1: glass/plastic bottles & cardboard

3) Recycling 2: cans

4) Dishes: reusable silverware

5) Trash: paper plates, plastic cups, etc.

DOGS: Unless you applied to bring your dog to Postock this year and received approval, we kindly request that you not bring your doggo to the festival.

KIDS: We have a large cohort of kiddos and babies coming to the festival this year. We have set up a Family Only Camping Zone at the Overlook, which you will be able to find via this map:

Overlook will be FAMILY ONLY. For people who like to stay up extra late by the fire, talk loud, and maybe watch the sunrise, we encourage them to stay in "Tent City" by the campfire. We will do some coordinating here around bedtime so parents can take shifts and enjoy the music. We will also have some fun kid activities set up by the tractor stage. Please be aware: music goes into the night, so we recommend bringing a sound machine for your tent.

SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING

• Flashlight

• Bug spray and bug-avoidant clothing (light long sleeves, netting)

• Reusable coffee mugs/cup

• A spare key for your car (just a thought)

• Portable phone charger

• A camping chair or blanket

• Sunscreen and a hat

• Towel/Swimsuit for a cistern or creek dip

• A little cash (we will be taking Venmo and CC for merch, but cash is always easy)

MERCH: Jessica Viscius @bnnyband designed our beautiful poster, t-shirt, bumper sticker, and BAGGU bag this year. Printing was done by Tyler Bixby at Madd Science Print Lab; we also have some amazing posters, tanks, hoodies, hats, and some very special Postock ceramic mugs. Merch from previous years will be available for sale, as well. We encourage bringing cash to the festival for merch, but we will be accepting Zelle or credit card as well on site.

WORKSHOPS: We’re offering some amazing workshops this year for attendees. Some will require you to bring a material or a few $dollars to help cover costs, so again, we recommend bringing some cash to the festival. Some extra items to bring: clothing to dye, a brain for learning, a yoga mat for movement.

DRESS CODE: Just kidding, but if you have some cow-print available to wear on Friday night, that would be great. Also recommend lightweight long sleeves for the evenings so you don’t get consumed by mosquitoes.

We’re trying out this space to see if it feels like the best fit for how to stay in touch with all of you who love and care about Postock.

Postock started as a party and grew into a festival — but I’ve kind of always thought about it as a retreat, a reunion, a resetting, a restoration. Its nature— DIY, multi-generational, and deeply seeded in community— is something I believe we all need a good dose of on a yearly basis. I am so looking forward to seeing all of you who will be joining us this year, and hope those that can’t make it will return someday again.

I’d like to use this newsletter to continue to highlight things that are connected to the Postock community throughout the year, and also maybe to wax poetic a little on some thoughts on creativity, community, curation, etc. So stay tuned.
